This training course is ideal for those new to primary care, providing an essential introduction to the treatment room. Participants will gain an understanding go the key services delivered by GP’s, Practice Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants. This half day session covers the essential equipment use in consultations, including for blood tests, dressings, immunisations and other routine procedures. This practical overview ensures new staff feel confident navigating the treatment room and supporting patient care effectively. 

Course Objectives

  • Explore the layout and function of the treatment room in a primary care setting 

  • Identify common equipment found in the treatment room and understand its uses 

  • Gain confidence in recognising tools used for consultations, blood tests, dressings, immunisations and other procedures 

Learning Outcomes

  • Be familiar with the equipment commonly found in GP treatment rooms 

  • Understand the basic functions and purposes of this equipment in patient care
