This Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Hypertension training session will enhance your skills in diagnosing, managing, and supporting patients with CVD and hypertension. You’ll learn about key risk factors and the importance of accurate diagnosis. The session will cover effective management strategies, including treatment adjustments, and explore local guidelines and QOF indicators. Focus will also be placed on health inequalities, patient support, and providing practical resources to boost your confidence in managing these conditions and knowing when to seek advice or refer patients for specialist care.

Course Objectives

  • Provide an introduction and update on diagnosis, monitoring, and review of CVD in General Practice.

  • Improve clinicians’ knowledge in the diagnosis, assessment, and management of CVD and Hypertension within primary care.

  • Increase confidence in understanding individual competency in managing CVD patients.

  • Understand the support and referral pathways for CVD and hypertension patients.

  • Develop the skills and confidence to deliver safe and effective patient care in the diagnosis and management of CVD and Hypertension.
