Care Certificate

The 3-day Care Certificate program provides essential training for individuals working in care settings. It covers key areas such as understanding your role, personal development, and duty of care, as well as promoting equality, diversity, and person-centred values. The course includes training in communication, privacy, dignity, fluids and nutrition, and awareness of mental health, dementia, and learning disabilities. It also addresses safeguarding adults and children, basic life support, health and safety, handling information, and infection prevention and control, ensuring that participants are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality, safe care. You will receive a contextualised portfolio with GP based activities and clear guidance on how to complete them. This training follows the national curriculum standards of the Care Certificate to ensure you meet the required competencies.

Course Objectives

• You will learn about the non-statutory and mandatory standards of the Care Certificate, focusing on accountability, delegation, and effective ways of working 

• This course will help you understand unique aspects of working in a primary care setting 

• Throughout this course there will be work based assessments that will demonstrate how your attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours are reflected in your daily practice 

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the 15 standards of the Care Certificate and how to apply them to your role 

• Demonstrate your knowledge of The Code of Conduct for Healthcare Workers, and apply it to your practice 

• Be able to understand the 6C’s (Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, and Commitment) outlined by the Chief Nursing Officer for England and apply these to your daily practice
