About PCWA
PCWA works across primary care training, education and workforce development.
Our experience comes from working within primary care itself, and continuing to work within primary care running a training hub. Today, we bring that experience together through PCWA, working with individuals and organisations across a growing range of training and workforce programmes.
PCWA grew from our work running a primary care training hubs. For more than six years, our team has worked directly with primary care teams to understand workforce needs, develop training programmes and support staff at different stages of their careers.
That gave us a clear view of what works, what is difficult to deliver locally and where organisations need more support.
PCWA was created to take that experience further, developing training, education and workforce programmes that can be used beyond the areas in which we started.

Our connection with primary care hasn't disappeared as PCWA has grown. Many of our educators are practising clinicians, and our wider team continues to work across primary care education, workforce programmes and Training Hub delivery. It keeps us close to the people using our training and means we continue to see how workforce changes affect practices and their staff. Here's what sets us apart:

As training hubs, we deeply understand the intricate systems and networks that healthcare professionals must navigate. We are experts in promoting workforce priorities and aligning them with the needs of the workforce, bridging the gap between strategy and practice.
Having collaborated extensively with providers, we have firsthand knowledge into the gaps that exist in training, resources, and support. This knowledge drives us to develop programs that address what we see missing, ensuring a stronger, more cohesive primary care system.
Our educators are practicing clinicians who bring invaluable knowledge to every training session. They understand the day-to-day realities of primary care because they work in them, offering relevant and impactful learning experiences.
